Richard Price - Violin Sports
Since graduating from the Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music in 1975, Richard Price has performed as Soloist, Concertmaster and First Violinist with orchestras such as;
  • the internationally famous Zurich Chamber Orchestra,
  • the international Festival Chamber Orchestra of Luzern,
  • the Allgemeine Musick Geselleschaft Orchester of Luzern,
  • the Aargauishes Symphoniker Orchester in Switzerland
  • also in many operas, ballets and in chamber music concerts in Europe and Australia.
He is also one of the rare classically trained violinists who is able to perform and improvise in other modern styles of music such as jazz and blues.

Richard, who has studied violin with some of the great masters in Europe, has taught violin in Australia and Europe for the last 25 years. He has borrowed from the world’s best teaching methods and amalgamated these excellent traditional methods with a more 20th Century approach including jazz, popular and folk music, as well as some concepts of sports training.

Quote: “When I was learning as a child there was no one able to teach me the sort of music I wanted to play. I had to teach myself. I want my students to have the option of learning the style of their choice.”
